Ekaterina Bobrova and Dmitry Soloviev have known each other since their childhood. After switching from singles to ice dancing, they formed their partnership in late 2000. They currently train in Moscow and are coached by the mother-daughter team of Svetlana Alexeeva and Elena Kustarova.
In late February 2006, Katia and Dima competed at the World Junior Championships for the first time and left the event as Champions. In Fall of 2007, they debuted on the Grand Prix Series finishing fifth and fourth, respectively. They ended their first senior season with a 13th place finish at the 2008 World Championships.
