Novice Free Dance Group A
Madison Hubbell and Kieffer Hubbell of the Ann Arbor Figure Skating Club took first place with an innovative free dance full of intricate elements and good power edges. Piper Gilles and Timothy McKernan of the Broadmoor Figure Skating Club took second with detailed, dancy choreography to music from the motion picture soundtrack, The Triplets of Belleville. In third place, the newly formed team of Michelle Pennington and Brad Coulter skated a passionate performance to Romeo and Juliet, while Kellene Ratko and Collin Brubaker finished just 1.04 behind the bronze medallists.

Novice Free Dance Group B
Cathy Reed and Chris Reed, who are training with new coach Shae-Lynn Bourne, finished first in Group B with a program containing innovative choreography, deep edges, twizzles and were smooth and dramatic. In second place, was Isabella Cannuscio and new partner Zachary Varraux who skated to Once Upon a Time in Mexico with good speed and power. North Atlantic FSC's Chloe Wolf and Rhys Ainsworth finished third and three points ahead of fourth place finishers Alexis Hauser and Kyle Herring.
