Mimi Whetstone and Chris Obzansky teamed up in late Spring 2006. They train in Canton, Michigan under coaches Igor Shpilband and Marina Zoueva. Shpilband also served as the choreographers for the team's programs. Whetstone and Obzansky won the gold medal at Pacific Coast Sectionals to qualify for the 2007 US National Championships in Spokane.

Whetstone previously competed with Benjamin Cohen and Nathan Miller (winning medals at the juvenile and intermediate levels). Obzansky had successful partnerships with Lydia Manon and Kendra Goodwin.

Obzansky returned to the skating scene in 2005 after completing a Mormon mission to the Baltics.
