Novice Events:  Both compulsory dances, the Paso Doble and Blues, are skated on the first day of competition (Monday, January 19). The next day, all skaters perform a free dance to music and rhythms of their own choosing. Highest combined point total wins.  

Junior Events:  Juniors perform only one compulsory dance, the Paso Doble, on Monday, January 19. The next day, the original dance is competed. This season's rhythm is Rhythms and Dances of the 1920’s, 1930’s or 1940’s. The skaters are free to choose their own music and elements, as long as they fit within the ISU guidelines. The competition concludes on Thursday with the free dance, skated to music and rhythms of their own choosing. Highest combined point total wins.  

Senior Events: Seniors perform only one compulsory dance, the Yankee Polka, on the afternoon of Wednesday, January 21. The next day, they then compete the original dance. The skaters are free to choose their own music and elements, as long as they fit within the ISU guidelines of Rhythms and Dances of the 1920’s, 1930’s or 1940’s. After a day off, the competition concludes on Saturday with the free dance skated to music and rhythms of their own choosing. Highest combined point total wins.
