With former partner Greg Zuerlein, Olson won the pewter medal at the juvenile level in 2004 and bronze at intermediate in 2005 at U.S. Junior National Championships.
Cowan previously skated with Kaylyn Patitucci and Michaela Cook.
Olson & Cowan were scheduled to compete on the JGP circuit in 2009, but a training accident severed tendons on Cowan's hand. Surgery was required and forced them to miss their assignments.
