• Maia & Alex Shibutani started ice dancing in 2004 and are each other’s first and only partner.
• The Shibutanis have medaled in each of their seven U.S. Championships appearances: silver in juvenile in 2005, gold in intermediate in 2006 and novice in 2007, pewter in junior in 2008, silver in junior in 2009, gold in junior in 2010, and silver in senior in 2011.
• Alex is a student at the University of Michigan.  Maia was just accepted as a freshman for 2012.
• The Shibutanis were alternates for the Grand Prix Final in 2010.  It was their first year on the series.
