Julia and Philipp are coached by Natalia Linichuk and Gennadi Karponosov.

Linichuk and Karponosov were Soviet ice dancers whose career highlights include winning gold medals at the 1978 and 1979 World Championships and the 1980 Olympic Games.

After their retirement in 1981, Linichuk and Karponosov became coaches, working with the Russian Ice Dance teams of Oksana Grischuk and Evgeni Platov, Anjelika Krylova and Oleg Ovsyiannikov and Irina Lobacheva and Ilya Averbukh.

.Krylova and Ovsyannikov won the silver medal at the 1998 Olympics while Lobacheva and Averbukh won the silver medal at the 2002 Olympics. Gennadi and Natalya’s ice dancers have captured many international medals and won the World Championships in 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2002.
