The story so far: Julia & Philipp were born in Munich, Germany, but grew up in the USA. It was while taking a lesson from Gorsha Sur that they
had their first start as an ice dance team. They competed in
the US from 1993-1997 (in pairs as well as dance), until a new
rule stating that one partner had to be a US citizen was
passed. Julia and Philipp, who had their greencards were
13 and 16 and their parents wanted them to wait until they
were 18 to decide on their citizenship. Philipp and Julia
competed for Germany from 1998-2001, training with Martin Stotnicky and finishing well at events at various levels.

They became US citizens in 2001 and are now eligible to represent the US internationally. They are training in
Newark, Delaware, under Natalia Linichuk and Gennady
Karponosov. They also work with Vitali Popkov (for
ballet) and Jeff Schneider.
