While junior and senior teams qualify and compete at the annual U.S. National Championships, athletes at the juvenile, intermediate and novice level will follow a much different path that culminates in a U.S. Ice Dance Final (November) and for top finishers, a National HIgh-Performance Development Team Camp (January).&nbsp; The pipeline focuses on their vision: Identify. Develop. Promote.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-995f960e wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<h2 id=\"what-is-the-national-qualifying-series-nqs\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is the National Qualifying Series (NQS)?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The National Qualifying Series (NQS) is a series of official U.S. Figure Skating approved competitions hosted individually by member clubs nationwide that are held in a standard format and in which athletes earn a score. They will earn a placement in the individual competition they enter, an overall national ranking in their level and a regional and sectional ranking. Advancement Criteria<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"how-do-i-register-for-the-nqs\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Do I Register for the NQS?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Athletes enter the overall NQS by logging onto&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/m.usfigureskating.org\/competition-registration\/\">U.S. Figure Skating\u2019s Event Management System<\/a>.&nbsp; Review the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usfigureskating.org\/sites\/default\/files\/media-files\/2026%20Qualifying%20Bye%20Advancement%20Criteria.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2025-26 Qualifying Season Athlete Bye &amp; Advancement Criteria<\/a>&nbsp;for a breakdown of the bye criteria. After byes, the remainder of the quota will be filled by the top scores from the NQS Final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>JUNIOR:&nbsp;<\/strong>A maximum of 10 available spots (plus byes if applicable) at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships. The top ten total combined junior scores from the nation in the NQS Final for ice dance will qualify for the U.S. Championships. Team(s) that qualify for the 2025 ISU Junior Grand Prix Final receive a bye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>NOVICE:&nbsp;<\/strong>A maximum of 5 available spots at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
