\"balloons-blades\"Loren Galler Rabinowitz, 2004 U.S. bronze medalist and Miss Massachusetts 2010, is proud to announce \u201cBLADES and BALLOONS,\u201d a figure skating fundraiser to benefit the Children\u2019s Miracle Network. The event will take place at the Skating Club of Boston from 6:30 to 10:00 p.m. on November 20. The event features a skating exhibition by national champion figure skaters, autograph signings by the featured skaters and Miss Massachusetts, a silent auction, hors d\u2019oeuvres and dessert, and open skating. An adult ticket is a $45 donation, while a child\u2019s ticket is $25.<\/p>\n

About CMN: <\/strong>Children\u2019s Miracle Network, the national platform of the Miss America Organization, is a charity that raises funds for more than 170 children\u2019s hospitals.Donations to Children\u2019s Miracle Network are used to provide charitable care, purchase life-saving equipment, and fund research and education programs that save and improve the lives of 17 million children each year. Founded in 1983 by Marie Osmond, John Schneider, Mick Shannon, and Joe Lake, Children\u2019s Miracle Network entered the scene as a nationally televised Telethon. \"lgr\"About Miss Massachusetts 2010:<\/strong> Loren Galler Rabinowitz is the reigning Miss Massachusetts and will represent Massachusetts at the 90th Miss America Pageant (January 15th, 2011 on ABC). An alumna of The Park School (\u201901), BB&N (\u201904) and Harvard University (\u201910), Loren will begin medical school next fall to pursue her dream of becoming a pediatrician. Loren is a former United States national novice and junior ice dancing champion, and United States (senior) bronze medalist in ice dancing. She is also a classical pianist.<\/p>\n

Loren\u2019s decade-long participation in pediatric medical research on the island of Barbados has left her with an acute awareness of, and sense of responsibility for, the most vulnerable members of society: children. She is honored to be serving as the goodwill ambassador for Children\u2019s Miracle Network during her year as Miss Massachusetts and to have this opportunity to use her love of skating for such an important cause.
