Michael Weiss of McLean, Virginia will host his 8th ANNUAL Michael Weiss Foundation \u201cIce Champions LIVE!\u201d at The Kettler Capitals Iceplex on Saturday, September 8th , 2012 bringing stars of the figure skating world to Northern Virginia to perform and socialize in a weekend event.<\/p>\n
Skaters include Brian Boitano, Ashley Wagner, Ryan Bradley, Kimmie Meissner, Caryn Kadavy, Michael Weiss, Steven Cousins, Richard Dornbush and many other Olympic, World and U.S. National Champions (for full list of skaters please visit MichaelWeiss.org).<\/p>\n
Michael Weiss, three-time U.S. National Figure Skating Champion and two-time Olympian is celebrating the 8th Annual Michael Weiss Foundation \u201cIce Champions LIVE!\u201d Michael will bring the most famous faces in figure skating to Arlington to help raise money for his foundation to further the dreams of even more local child athletes.
This event is one like no other. Skaters twist like a tornado in the air landing in front of the on-ice seats. No where else can you experience the feel, the movement, the actual speed of these skaters as in this intimate Arlington venue! Each skater brings something unique to the show to give our Northern Virginia crowd an exciting, fun-filled program that has something for the whole family!<\/p>\n
The Michael Weiss Foundation (MWF) is a non-profit organization offering scholarships to these aspiring Olympiads and currently is sponsoring twenty seven (27) recipients. Knowing first hand how much it takes to get an athlete to the Olympics, Michael gives children this opportunity through his scholarships so they can carry the torch for Olympics of the future. Establishing the Michael Weiss Foundation was Michael\u2019s way of further giving back to the sport that his given him so much.<\/p>\n
In addition to the ice show, there will be a silent auction that features the skaters personal memorabilia. This silent auction also has hundreds of items both from the World Figure Skating Community as well as local artists, jewelers\u2019, restaurants and much, much more.<\/p>\n
The event will be held on Saturday, September 8th at 4:00 pm at Kettler Capitals Iceplex, in Arlington, Va. Tickets are now on sale through www.MichaelWeiss.org and www.Ticketweb.com or by calling (866) 468-7630. ON-ICE SEATING is available this year! Ticket prices range from $20-$50 with VIP opportunities \u2013 meet and socialize with some of the biggest stars in skating with the VIP package. Proceeds from the ticket sales will go to figure skating scholarships to be awarded later this year.<\/p>\n
