IDC is highlighting some of the new partnerships that are debuting in the 2019-20 competitive season. Charley Steen & Reese Moore are the next team we are featuring in this season\u2019s series.\u00a0<\/em><\/div>\n

\"\"Tell us about your individual skating journeys.<\/strong><\/div>\n
CS: I started skating when I was three years old and had my first lesson when I was 4 years old. My coach, Brienne Fiske introduced me to my dance coach and I started ice dance when I was 8 years old.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
RM: I was 7 years old when I started skating. I took Learn to Skate lessons because I wanted to play hockey. My first coach put me in a competition and I just kept on figure skating. I took a short break from skating when I was 8 years old, but started back up when a few friends wanted to do a group number in the Learn to Skate Christmas show. I continued with Learn to Skate and private lessons for another year and then started ice dance with my first partner when I was 10 years old.\u00a0<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
Tell us how your partnership started.<\/strong><\/div>\n
RM: Charley and I were taking ice dance lessons from Colin McManus individually. When my previous partner quit ice dance, Colin arranged for Charley and I to have a try-out. We officially started our partnership in November 2018.<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
What do you like most about skating with your partner?<\/strong><\/div>\n
CS: Skating with Reese makes training more fun. He is a supportive partner on and off the ice.<\/div>\n
RM: Charley works hard and she is fun to talk to, a great friend, and like the little sister I never had. It is nice to have a partner that has the same skating goals as I do.<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
If you could have a lesson with any ice dancer past\/present, who would it be?<\/strong><\/div>\n
CS: Since I already have lessons with my favorite ice dancers, I would choose Madison Chock and Evan Bates.<\/div>\n
RM: I agree with Charley, our favorite skaters already coach us, but if I had to choose someone else, I would pick Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron.<\/div>\n

Can you give us some background on your programs this season?<\/strong><\/div>\n
Our music for our free dance is from the WWII era into the 1950’s. Since both of us have grandparents that served in the military, it gives us the opportunity to honor those that served, especially from that era. Reese\u2019s military-inspired costume has authentic Army patches and the rank his grandfather had when he served.\u00a0<\/div>\n

Is there anything else you would like our readers to know about you?<\/strong><\/div>\n
If you put our names together, Charley and Reese, we become Cheesy!\u00a0 We train together at the University of Delaware Ice Arenas and Charley skates at Ice World in Maryland.\u00a0 We like many of the same styles of music.\u00a0 We both have birds and dogs as pets.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
