Compulsory Dance Superfinal

Lauren McKernan & Matt Kleffman<\/b><\/p>\n

She has a great smile, and they perform a very solid and confident dance.\u00a0 Their last pattern may have been a bit smaller than the rest of their patterns.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Katie Wyble & Justin Morrow<\/b><\/p>\n

A very energetic opening sets them up for the dance.\u00a0 Her shoulders looked tight in the first couple of patterns, but then it looked like she started to relax.\u00a0 Their closing also had good energy, but it appeared somewhat cautious overall.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Megan Evans & Nathan Truesdell<\/b><\/p>\n

Their pattern appeared to be on the larger side, and they had good speed throughout the dance.\u00a0 Her free arm was very relaxed and she used it well.\u00a0 Their last pattern looked a bit smaller than the others to me.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Anastasia Olson & Jordan Cowan <\/b><\/p>\n

She has good presence in the opening and a nice smile.\u00a0 I thought that they looked shaky on some of their turns, especially the last couple of patterns.\u00a0 Their first two patterns, however, were strong.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lauren Ely & Travis Mager <\/b><\/p>\n

I love the turquoise and black costumes!\u00a0 They opened with great energy, but they looked hesitant on their first pattern.\u00a0 Their steps are not very snappy, and she looks unsure on some of the turns.\u00a0 I thought that they had a slight misstep on the last turn, but they recovered almost instantly.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Elizabeth Lewis & Baxter Burbank <\/b><\/p>\n

She has an adorable pink dress!\u00a0 I thought that they could have benefited from having a longer opening \u2013 they waited in their poses for longer than most of the other teams.\u00a0 Overall, it needed to be crisper, but it was a solid dance. <\/p>\n

Chloe Wolf & Rhys Ainsworth <\/strong><\/p>\n

They were crisp and appeared to be confident.\u00a0 I noticed that they had a good push on the longer steps.\u00a0 Showing great control, they performed a very strong, enjoyable dance.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Claire Schretlen & Chase Brogan<\/b><\/p>\n

She may have had a slight misstep on the fifth pattern.\u00a0 They looked confident and gave a strong performance, but sometimes, his foot returns to the ice faster than hers, compromising their unison.<\/p>\n

Novice Free Dance Group A<\/span><\/p>\n

Natalie Wojton\/Michael Soyer:\u00a0 Very jazzy program.\u00a0 The team opened with twizzles, good synchronization and okay speed.\u00a0 Nice straight-line lift, each on one foot, grabbing the others blade.\u00a0 Strong one arm rotational lift.\u00a0 Nice smiles and energy throughout.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Una Donegan\/Andrew Korda:\u00a0 Anytime, Anywhere. First set of twizzles had good speed and in synch.\u00a0 Lifts were very strong and included an upside down lift, combo lift in spread eagle position and one arm rotational lift.\u00a0 Nice program.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Claire Shretlen\/Chase Brogan:\u00a0 Music from Troy.\u00a0 Nice upside down lift and diagonal footwork sequence.\u00a0 Attempted a catch blade element on the twizzles.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kelsey Marie Little\/Ryan Mason:\u00a0 Very nice opening, lyrical and setting the mood of the program.\u00a0 Difficult positions in the lifts.\u00a0 First set of twizzles were okay.\u00a0 Extended lift may have been too long.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Laurence Darveau\/Simon Prouix-Senecal:\u00a0 Skated to a Christina Aguilara medley.\u00a0 First set of twizzles good, she had a fall on the 2nd<\/sup> set.\u00a0 Nice lift with him in a sit position and her doing a push up on his legs.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

Anastasia Olson\/Jordan Cowan:\u00a0 Gypsy music program looked very polished.\u00a0 Second set of twizzles picked up speed and well done.\u00a0 Overall, a clean, well skated program.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Nikki Yorgiadis\/Graham Hockley:\u00a0 Medley of 40\u2019s music.\u00a0 Looked like they really enjoyed the program and she was singing along.\u00a0 Strong twizzles and great split jump by him.\u00a0 Ran into some trouble with the spin and towards the end of the program.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ariane Beaudry\/Marcus Connolly:\u00a0 Corpse Bride with very theatrical costumes.\u00a0 Twizzle sequence was okay, but he had a foot down on the 2nd<\/sup> set.\u00a0 She had a fall on the footwork, but the program did pick up speed towards the end.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Janine Ashley Halstead\/Robert Knopf, Jr.:\u00a0 Flamenco music.\u00a0 Nice start and good spin with him in back scratch position.\u00a0 Looked a little cautious in the middle, twizzles were okay.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Laurin Benson\/Chris Lettner:\u00a0 Music from Charlie & the Chocolate Factory.\u00a0 Nice cut of music, starting very dramatic, and then moving into more lyrical.\u00a0 Twizzle sequence was good and picked up speed into the 2nd<\/sup> set.\u00a0 Nice program.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lauren McKernan\/Matt Kleffman:\u00a0 Good speed in the program with strong, controlled lifts.\u00a0 Were having trouble with the twizzles in some of the warm-ups, but hung onto them during the competition.\u00a0 Circular footwork maintained speed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Megan Evans\/Nathan Truesdell:\u00a0 Music from Little Miss Sunshine. Polished team, with strong lifts and good speed throughout the program.\u00a0 Had a very nice balance move with both on one leg, very low to the ice.<\/p>\n

Group B<\/h3>\n

Ryan Coombs\/Christian Pickard:\u00a0 Putting on the Ritz.\u00a0 Nice lifts and hung onto the twizzle sequence.\u00a0 Fun program, but needs a little more expression.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Olivia Martins\/Alvin Chau:\u00a0 Very nice opening.\u00a0 Strong twizzles, very fast and controlled.\u00a0 Footwork sequence had good speed.\u00a0 Wonderful, strong performance.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mariah Benfield\/Eugene Holmes:\u00a0 Spread eagle elements done in unison.\u00a0 First twizzle sequence okay, he put his foot down on the 2nd<\/sup> set.\u00a0 Nice no hold lift.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Grace Lee Sells\/Robert Cuthbertson:\u00a0 West Side Story.\u00a0 Twizzles were okay, little problem with the 2nd<\/sup> set.\u00a0 Beautiful straightline lift with him holding her foot.\u00a0 The spread eagle extended lift was very nice.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

Molly Raymond\/Nathan Raymond:\u00a0 Georgia & Hit the Road Jack.\u00a0 Had a good start to the program, but a fall going into the spin.\u00a0 Very nice counter balance lift with both in a very low position on the ice.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

Joanna Salvagna\/Marc-Andre Servant:\u00a0 Elvis Medley.\u00a0 She had a fall in the beginning of the program, but they recovered well.\u00a0 Twizzles were nice and they had good speed in the footwork.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lauren Ely\/Travis Mager:\u00a0 Sitting on top of the World & Mack the Knife.\u00a0 Strong opening, but she had a slight stumble.\u00a0 Good circular footwork and twizzle sequence.\u00a0 Nice expression by both throughout the program.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Liza Branella\/Ben Nykiel:\u00a0 Tango, Tango, Tango.\u00a0 Good diagonal footwork, but lost a little speed towards the end.\u00a0 First twizzle sequence strong, her foot down on the 2nd<\/sup> set.\u00a0 Very nice lifts.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lauren Corry\/Donald Bradner:\u00a0 Beatles Medley.\u00a0 Nice opening lift, very long spin.\u00a0 Difficult lift with both very low to the ice, but lost a lot of speed.\u00a0 Slight stumble on the footwork.\u00a0 Twizzle sequence was very good.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Olivia Griggs\/Aaron Arnott:\u00a0 Good opening, very nice lift.\u00a0 Slight stumble in the circular footwork sequence.\u00a0 Mid-line footwork was in synch, looked nice.\u00a0 Needs a little more expression.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kate McDermott\/Colin McManus:\u00a0 Cosmic Girl, Release the Pressure, Canned Heat.\u00a0 Very different type of program and music.\u00a0 Nice upbeat start.\u00a0 First set of twizzles, strong and fast, he had a fall on the 2nd<\/sup> set.\u00a0 Curve lift, nice position by both of them.\u00a0 Circular footwork had good speed throughout, but he had a fall at the very end.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

Elizabeth Lewis\/Baxter Burbank:\u00a0 Good speed in the program, he had a slight stumble during one of the transitions.\u00a0 Nice combo lift in a spread eagle position and good speed on their rotational lift.\u00a0 Unfortunately, her hair ribbon fell onto the ice.<\/p>\n
