{"id":9600,"date":"2016-09-24T17:41:03","date_gmt":"2016-09-24T17:41:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ice-dance.com\/site\/?p=9600"},"modified":"2019-03-23T18:35:05","modified_gmt":"2019-03-23T22:35:05","slug":"2016-cow-tales-blog-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ice-dance.com\/site\/2016-cow-tales-blog-4\/","title":{"rendered":"2016 Cow Tales Blog #4"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[et_pb_section admin_label=&#8221;section&#8221;][et_pb_row admin_label=&#8221;row&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243;][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Text&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Greetings from Oberstdorf with our fourth and final blog of the trip.\u00a0 We had planned all sorts of fascinating things to say in this final installment, as we had become versed on cow facts, pun and metaphors before we left home.\u00a0 However, the bottom line is that we failed at delivering what we were seeking &#8212;&#8211; to see the Oberstdorf cows parade through town.\u00a0 Our US singles and pairs judge, Rob Rosenbluth, was savvy enough to find them earlier in the week.\u00a0 However, we have since learned that the heifers won&#8217;t be hoofing through the village for a while\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n<p>That being said, we made the most of this disappointing realization, and turned our attention to the task we were sent here to do &#8212; skate well!\u00a0\u00a0 Today was the free dance event in the mid-afternoon, and there were so many strong and varied programs, that the audience was treated to some fabulous entertainment.\u00a0 When one considers how early it is in the season, most teams looked very well prepared, well trained and did a great job earning their levels.<\/p>\n<p>We skated our Layla &amp; Majnun free dance.\u00a0 In our version of this Persian legend, the young, beautiful Layla tempts Majnum to the edge of insanity, since he is prohibited from marrying her.\u00a0 Igor, along with Rohene Ward worked the choreography to mirror Majnun losing his mind, incorporating complex curves and rotational movements from the twizzles through the end of the program, but letting the audience interpret the ending of the program \u2026.
