42nd anniversary of skating show to benefit the Jimmy Fund

Tickets are on sale now for An Evening with Champions! It will take place on Saturday, Sept. 29 and Sunday, Sept. 30.  Come support the show and help raise money for the Jimmy Fund this year. Tickets will be available from the Harvard Box Office starting today. Discounted group tickets are also available for purchase. Ticket prices are $8 for students, $12 for senior citizens, and $25 for the general public. An Evening with Champions will be held at Harvard’s Bright Hockey Center, located at 79 North Harvard Street in Allston.

The Saturday show will begin at 7 p.m., while the Sunday show will begin at 2 p.m. The shows will feature world-class skaters performing everything from triple axels to layback spins to support the Jimmy Fund. A silent auction will begin 30 minutes before each show, with a prize drawing after intermission.

A premier skating exhibition, this year will feature skating legends such as: 2006 World Champion, the 2007 U.S. National Champion, and the 2007 Four Continents Champion, Kimmie Meissner; 2011 Canadian national silver medalist and a three-time (2005-2006 & 2008) Canadian national bronze medalist and 2006 Olympian, Shawn Sawyer; 2009–2010 Junior Grand Prix Final bronze medalist, 2009 U.S. Junior bronze medalist and Harvard’s very own freshman, Christina Gao; old time favorites, two-time Olympic champions (1964, 1968) and four-time World champions (1965–1968) Ludmila & Oleg Protopopov. More of the cast list will be released closer to the show’s start date. Pediatric cancer patients from the Jimmy Fund Clinic will also have an opportunity to skate with the performers during the weekend of Evening with Champions.
