2010 Grand Prix Ice Dancing Entry Lists Released

On Sunday, June 13, the International Skating Union released the entries for the six event Grand Prix series that will take place later this fall.  Often the Grand Prix series following an Olympic year has a different face than previous seasons, due mostly to the retirements of those who cap their careers with their Olympic appearances.

Missing from the list are former World Champions Isabelle Delobel & Olivier Schoenfelder of France and Oksana Domnina & Maxim Shabalin who retired from competition after the Olympics.  Also moving on to life after competition are multi-time World medalists Tanith Belbin & Benjamin Agosto who will continue to skate together professionally and American fan favorites Kimberly Navarro & Brent Bommentre who announced in May that they will tour with Holiday on Ice.  Others are in the midst of forming new partnerships for the upcoming season.

The rosters still contain some hot names as the gold (Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir) and silver medalists (Meryl Davis & Charlie White) from the 2010 Winter Olympics have been assigned to events, as well as 2010 World bronze medalists Federica Faiella & Massimo Scali of Italy, and fan favorites Sinead Kerr & John Kerr of Great Britain and Natalie Pechalat & Fabian Bourzat of France.  In addition, it boasts a collection of up-and-comers and fresh faces to the Grand Prix series scene.
